Abstract
Most previous studies of the English Reformation have concentrated upon either the north or the south-east. This thesis instead considers the midlands county of Shropshire, and in doing so demonstrates that the normative model of transition from Catholicism to English Reformed worship does not adequately describe the experience in that county.
