Abstract
This paper sets out the authorized liturgical provisions concerning the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Roman Catholic Church and in the various Provinces of the Anglican Communion. The aim of this work is to assist Commission members to explore and understand the ways in which Mary is recognised, commemorated and honoured in the prayer life of our two traditions.
Part 1 concerns feasts which relate to the Blessed Virgin Mary; Part 2 offers the relevant liturgical and lectionary materials. In both cases each author offers commentary which seeks to explicate each tradition to the other.
NB: Both parts need to be read in conjunction with the attached table.
