Abstract
This paper explores the imagery of vineyards, grapevines and wine to see how it has been used and developed to speak of the health and well-being of the people of Israel, or the lack thereof, and their relationship with God over time. Different traditions of this imagery are traced through Israel’s literary history well into the New Testament.
